300 Full Endoscopic Discectomies Later: A Milestone in Motion

The Power of a Small Incision

This week, I performed my 300th full endoscopic spine Surgery (discectomy.

While the procedure itself took under an hour — guided by a 7mm incision, a camera, and years of training — its meaning reached far beyond the OR.

For me, this milestone is not about numbers. It’s about 300 patients who walked into my clinic in pain, in fear, or in frustration — and left with hope, strength, and restored mobility. It’s about refining a technique that has revolutionized spine care, one case at a time.

A Journey of Precision and Purpose

When I first trained in full endoscopic spine surgery, it was still gaining ground in our region. The tools were smaller, but the learning curve was steep. I remember my first few cases — the focus, the anxiety, the adrenaline, and the care. Every anatomical variation and every compressed nerve root taught me something new.

Fast forward to today, and the process has become a seamless flow between technology and intuition. What was once “minimally invasive” now feels like maximally impactful.

More Than Surgery: 300 Human Stories

Behind each of those 300 cases is a unique story:-

  • A young professional with a herniated disc, anxious to return to work
  • A father who could barely sleep from sciatica
  • An athlete trying to get back to competition without fusion surgery

Each case reminds me: that we’re not just operating on spines — we’re restoring quality of life.

What I’ve Learned Along the Way

  • Less can be more: Minimal tissue trauma, less blood loss, faster recovery. This is the future of spine surgery.
  • Every case matters: No matter how many you’ve done, the next one is someone’s first.
  • Growth never stops: Even after 300 cases, I’m still evolving — refining my technique, learning from colleagues, and sharing insights with the next generation of surgeons.

Looking Ahead

This isn’t the end of a chapter — it’s the foundation of a higher standard. My goal is to:

  • Expand access to advanced endoscopic procedures in the region
  • Educate other surgeons through live surgeries, workshops, and training
  • Research and publish the long-term outcomes we’re seeing — because they’re exceptional

A Moment of Gratitude

  • To my patients: thank you for trusting me.
  • To my team: thank you for standing beside me in every case.
  • To the mentors and innovators who brought this technique to life: your vision changed my practice.

Here’s to the next hundred lives we improve — one minimally invasive step at a time.
