For the last 25 years several important steps been achieved in our field, most of the people don’t realise exactly this achievement since most of them related to some specific details in practice. I mean technical improvement.

People usually care about, the cosmetic appearance, pain and comfort, duration of the treatment and off course the result and how much accurate it is to meet their expectations.

Honestly until now there is no orthodontic system can consider all these factors together in the same time.

• The regular metal conventional Brackets (braces),

The conventional brackets are the most popular orthodontic system and this system still offering very good and accurate results for most cases of malocclusion, but still they have the traditional disturbances such as teeth ache in the first and second week, lip and cheek irritation beside people commonly they don’t find them good looking.

• The ceramic conventional Brackets (braces),

They perform exactly the same as the metal ones, but they are much more irritant and the treatment using them may take a little much more time, but they look more cosmetic since they are less showing.

• The invisible aligners like Invisalign, e cligner etc.

This concept started to take place among our choices in treatment since it is the best cosmetic solution for those who refuse the treatment due to the appearance of the brackets, and they are very hygienic since no food remnants can stuck up.

This aligners almost invisible once we put them on but the spectrum  of the cases they can correct is very limited beside they are poor in accuracy (they don’t give perfect details for the teeth in the final result ) the Doctor can not adjust them during the treatment and they don’t accept less than perfect commitment in using them (any shortening in use will lead to failure in results) .

• The self-ligating brackets (SLX Carriere Brackets).

This concept (self-ligating Brackets) added a big value to our knowledge and when we talk about SLX CARRIERE BRACKETS as one of those self-ligation technics we are really talking about the state of art in this concept. Yes, they are metallic bracket and yes, they show like any other conventional brackets, but the big two values added here are less pain and less time. Now we can save 25 to 30 % of the treatment time, people would appreciate too much if we finish their treatment in 12 months instead of 18 months and in 18 instead of 24 months.

Most of our patients are school boys and girls’ teenagers and foreigners who are committed to a limited job contracts and they have their own plans later to that. Travelling back home or study abroad so they want to achieve orthodontic treatment only during their stay in the current place not beyond that.

This brackets now allow us to achieve a perfect detailed result with the best control ever on the teeth movement in the shortest possible time.
