- Basal body temperature chart. You can do it by checking your rest body temperature in early morning before moving from bed. A small rise of 0.5oC can be traced on your ovulation days. A new device (OvuSense) tracker are available now as vaginal device inserted by patient before sleep. It records the body temperature every 5 minutes to trace ovulation.
- Blood serum progesterone rise can prove your ovulation if it is done in day 21 of your period.
- Ovulation predictor apparatus is similar to the pregnancy test available in pharmacy. It analyses urine for Luteinizing Hormone (LH) which indicate ovulation. LH in urine means that you are going to ovulate in the next 12-36 hours and it is good to have sex in the next couple of days (if you are aiming to get pregnant). Test comes in kits and you will need to check on several days to trace ovulation.
- Pelvic ultrasound by gynecologist can detect your follicular growth on days 11, 13, to 16 and confirm your ovulation by measuring the size of follicles in ovary.
